Checkerboard Side-table

This piece was designed, built, and completed in 2015, the was the first real piece of furniture that I ever built. It was challenging in the sense that my woodworking skills were still in their early stages. This caused me to focus much more on the building process than on the form of the piece. The checkerboard top was especially challenging for me to figure out conceptually but turned out to be one of the more attractive elements of the piece.
