Wedding Box

This maple box was constructed during the summer of 2021 as a gift for my Aunt’s wedding. I created the design with the significance of a wedding in mind, focusing on the unity that it represents. This box, aside from the maple burl top, is made from a single piece of wood that divides itself into two separate spaces within a single object. The intent behind this form and use of wood was to convey that the people being married had always been made from the same material and were therefore meant for one another while still maintaining their individuality and occupying their own sections of the world.
